Who will brave the storms of life in search of the oppressed?
Who will face the wrath of the self-righteous saints and give aid and comfort to the rebellious sinners?
Who will hear the cries of the hungry and move mountains to feed them?
Who will hear the wailing of the mothers whose babies are dying for lack of clean water; and who, having heard, will find a way to dig the wells and treat the water that gives life to those already written off by the angel of death.
Who will recognize the shivering of the naked, and give them dignity while giving them warmth?
Who will look upon the victims of atrocity and brave the bullying of armed cowards to bind their wounds?
Who will brave the cowardice of the armed bullies long enough to unlock the prison of hate inside of them?
Who will hear the weeping of the frightened pregnant teenager, and sit with her as she makes choices children weren't intended to make?
Who will have the courage to teach whole cultures to stop defining themselves as victims?
Who will hear the roar of the soul trapped in addiction, too tired to work their way back for help and too embarrassed to face the disgusted looks of those they've scammed on the way down?
Who will wear hear the earnest pleas of the sick and dying, and carry the battle for health to their doorstep?
Who will give up wealth and safety and glory to bring hope to those with no reason to hope?
Who will stand up to the professor dashing Christians against the stones of academia, and then tend to that professor when the storms of life overwhelm him?
Who will stand up to the false preachers of faith who make God sound angry and hate-filled?
Who will stand up to the Biblically illiterate professional who pounds on the timid believer in an effort to make God sound petty and powerless?
Who will stand up to those who say God helps those who help themselves, when Christianity is all about God helping those who can't help themselves?
Who will have the courage to speak in the corridors of power for the voices of the silent sufferers?
Who will have the courage to stop whining about what others get and instead find ways to get them what they need?
But most important of all---when their bellies are filled, and their bodies are warmed and their brains are engaged, who will have the courage to tell them that Jesus is the Messiah for all humankind
that (in His words) no human comes to the presence of God except by bowing to the Messiah
that no person who has lived or is living or will ever live is moral enough or righteous enough to stand in the presence of God
unless they have met Jesus
the One Man who had the courage to answer "ME!? when all these questions were asked, even when He knew it meant awful death at the hands of others
that (in His words) no human comes to the presence of God except by bowing to the Messiah
